Shay Zilberman was born in 1976 in Ramla, Israel, and he currently lives and works in Jaffa. In 2002, he completed his BFA studies at the Beaux-Arts, Paris (with honors), and in 2003 he studied fashion design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

Over the past five years, Zilberman has been applying collage and etching techniques to ready-made images. He has presented his works and projects in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and worldwide. These include the solo exhibitions Men Gaze at Water (Tel Aviv Artists’ Studios, 2018); Souvenir (Wilfrid Israel Museum, 2018); True to Original (Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, 2015); Eternal Afternoon Nap (Inga Gallery of Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv, 2014); The Sleeping (Museum of Israeli Art, Ramat Gan, 2010); and the group exhibitions In Conversation 2 (Tel Aviv Museum of Art, 2015); Nekudat Maga (Contact Point) Project (Israel Museum, 2015); and The Ready Made Centennial (Haifa Museum of Art, 2013). Since 2014, Zilberman was invited for residency at the Gottesman Etching Center at Kibbutz Cabri, where he is working on ongoing projects that combine printing and collage techniques. Zilberman’s works are included in a number of public and private collection such as the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Herzliya Museum of Contemporary art, Haaretz Collection, the Shpilman Institute of Photography and the Knesset Collection.
